Agroforestry Success: How Partnerships Scaled Working Buffers
Our panel will discuss a joint project that enabled the planting of nearly 20,000 trees across 3 farms in Eastern Pennsylvania — a small but important step towards reducing agricultural runoff in the Chesapeake Bay. We will meander through the collaborative efforts that led to the successful implementation of these working buffers, and highlight the benefits of integrating income-generating species into riparian zones for farmers. You'll learn how strategic partnerships, innovative financing, and farmer-centered approaches can overcome barriers to adoption and drive significant ecological and economic benefits like reducing agricultural runoff, supporting biodiversity support, and diversifying revenue for farmers.
